Sea slightly agitated, transiently agitated, swell crooked, average wind of 14 knots SSE, with some passages to close to 20 knots, clear sky, little cloudy, pressure 1019 evolving to 1020 at the beginning of night.

Nice day, mostly under gennaker. The goal of taking a tuna has not been achieved, nor anything else.

… our Top Chef aboard, Catherine, continues to surprise us with every meal. Sylvie is at his side. To taste it, we were treated to a rum banana bred (so little). And as macho sailors ;-), Guillaume, Patrick and the Captain take a nap …

obviously, it’s a joke. Guillaume is preparing to make our first backpack bread.

May, 16th

During the day, beautiful to moderate seas, southeast wind 12/14 knots, clear sky, few clouds. Very cloudy late in the afternoon and during the night with variable winds, from 4 to 16 knots, varying from south east to south south east. Sea rough, cross swell very uncomfortable.Some grains during the night of 16 to 17.

These conditions had the effect of causing an eventful night for the crew. for 2h30, from 23h to 1h30. We had to change the tension listening of the edge of our mainsail, broken sheath. When everything was ok, big sail slumped, returned, solent in place, in short, we were all ready to return to lover in our berths, starboard GV listening breaks its sheath also. Same maneuvers, we change the listening. The origin of these incidents was identified and dates from Grenada where a local rigger had badly reassembled our GV on the boom. Everything is ok now.

Not all sailors are friendly, during our night-time repair, a catamaran that followed us, complained to the radio of our regular course changes (wind to the south, then resumed our journey to north east … he had to adapt his course and it annoyed him, so he asked that it stop … this boat was not part of the fleet of ABC, I reassure the friends).
Some very local calm encountered and very little road to the engine. Our diesel reserves are still important.

Sweaters start to be worn more often.

Fortunately, our days are enlivened by the meals prepared by Catherine. Again and again mahi mahi following our beautiful fishing, rillettes this time.

I register my boat at the Transat Back Atlantic Back Cruising 2019 …

“Started from Hyères for 4 years, we had to go around the world Finally, at the doors of the Panama Canal, desperate but happy of 20 000 NM traveled, we decided to join our Mediterranean to be ready for our children, our friends we miss so much. Becoming the transat go rally on a human scale, we enjoyed the atmosphere, and … the punches on each of the friends boats.
